Meeting Simon Casali-Krzentowski off-stage is like being introduced to a
completely different person. The young conductor who explodes, rebels
and frantically inspires his musicians during performances, becomes a
gentle, almost shy person when he no longer wears his concert dress.
Sunday the 17th of February, he will perform with his Hafnia Chamber
Orchestra at the Jerusalem Theatre, presenting works of, amongst others,
Ben-Haim, Donizetti and Tchaikovsky in a concert where the Old World
meets the New World.
On
their first concert tour to Vietnam, the Hafnia Chamber
Orchestra performed with nine of its members together with seven
young talented musicians of the Hanoi Philharmonic Orchestra.
Accompanying the famous soloist Le Thu Huong, the orchestra gave
the audience three wonderful concerts, presenting a programme
inspired on "East meets West".
For the August edition of 12Tone Magazine, Simon
Casali-Krzentowski was interviewed by Thérèse Goudsmid, introducing the
Hafnia Chamber Orchestra and commenting on the life of a young
conductor.
