We closed 2011 with two beautiful performances of Handel's "Messiah" in Vor Frelsers Kirke, innaugurating a collaboration with Voces Academy (conducted by Peter Hanke). In March 2012, several Hafnia members join the renowned double-bass jazz performer Chris Minh Doky, accompanied by Jacob Christoffersen (piano), and Jonas Johanssen (drums), in 5 concerts: - March 21: Frederiksværk, Gjethuset - March 30: Greve: Portalen - March 22: Rødovre: Viften - March 31: Hørsholm - March 28: Odense, Dexter
On July 30, Hafnia will perform at Nykøbing Sjelland Kirke (Odsherreds Kammermusikfestival). The program includes Tchaikovsky's Serenade and Shostakovich's Piano Concerto No. 1 (featuring the Uruguayan pianist Gustavo Cardinal).
In August, Hafnia welcomes some of the best classical musicians in Hanoi (Vietnam), with whom we'll play several concerts in Copenhagen. This collaboration continues a cultural exchange that Hafnia has developed with musicians from the Vietnam National Academy of Music since 2007. We look forward to playing an exciting program with our Vietnamese colleagues, with interesting and varied repertoire and including several pieces featuring soloists (among them, Huong Thu Le - Flute and Bui Cong Duy - Violin).
We also look forward to a new collaboration with Voces Academy in Mozart's Requiem. We'll post more information about this and other upcoming performances in the near future.
If you'd like to listen to some of our recordings, check out the section "Sounds" (which appears by clicking on the link "Orchestra" in the left-hand menu). We have recently added some new samples and more will be uploaded shortly.
